Where has the clinic gone nowadays?
This question, which resonates with Eric Laurent question "Where has the name-of-the-father gone today?" can serve as a compass for DORa study program for the coming year. The psychiatric clinic is directed nowadays mainly by medication and the global market, as written by Yael Lahav (a colleague that passed away recently), in an article that was published in "Yediot Acharonot" (5.4.08). The clinic as we knew it is gradually disappearing and this carries with it far reaching consequences that require further study… 

Reading seminar

We will continue with the reading of Lacan's seminar X "Anxiety", from chapter XII. The reading will be directed by the theme of "Lacanian Interpretation"- which is the topic for the next NLS congress for 2009- as it was gradually elucidated across the seminars and teaching of Lacan. The regular study encounters in class will be accompanied by reading "tables" – in which the participants will form various teams. The teams will read together texts in the time and location that they choose.

Clinical praxis

The clinic will be at the center. The seminar will relate to clinical cases from the literature and from the clinical practices of the participants. Although the seminar is not to be used as supervision, in each clinical problem there is "some Real". This year a special emphasis will be put on presence in various public clinics and hospitals - during patient presentation and clinical discussions. These activities will be advanced under the title: "Clinical problems of our times".

Introductory Lectures

In these lessons, like in previous years, "Freud" will be the basis for the study program – this year the "Lacanian interpretation" will be at the center. Freud saw' already in 1920, that the effects of the interpretations that he was providing were vanishing. The Post-freudians, that also noticed the obstacle that the psychoanalytic practice created for itself, put all the emphasis on "Resistance" and thus – on the interpretation of resistance and transference. Lacan, very early in his teaching' in 1050 suggested a key to the reading of the phenomenon: "The resistance of the object-writing-from the moment that it was readable in the dialectic of psychoanalysis, is tested as the alibi of the subject. He invited psychoanalysts to search for the new instruments in the field od language and speech' by correctly localizing the question about the subject.

Clinical seminar taking place in a Psychiatric Hospital

The seminar's text is Lacan's seminar on "Anxiety", with the new direction stemming from the question – how Lacan's last teachings which are already present in the seminar on "Anxiety" - reflect on the issues related to interpretation.

Seminars of the Freudian field with guest lecturers

The seminar invites teaches and guests from abroad and serve as a quilting point in the sequence of teaching in DORa project. During the year three seminars will take place.
